The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday announced 67 candidates in its fifth list for Lok Sabha candidates. The decision was taken at the BJP central election committee meeting that lasted for nearly 9 hours on Wednesday.
Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari met LK Advani on Wednesday, who had rescued himself from the meeting, stating that it was inappropriate for him to be present as his candidature was being discussed.
The party has fielded Olympian Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jaipur rural.
In Rajasthan former MP Nihalchand Meghwal has been named from Ganganagar, sitting MP Arjun Meghwal from Bikaner, MLA Santosh Ahlawat from Jhunjhunu, social activist Swami Sumedanand will contest from Sikar, State General Secretary Ramcharan Vohra from Jaipur, ex-MLA Mahent Chandnath from Alwar, sitting MP Bahadur Koli from Bharatpur, ex-DGPHarish Meena from Dausa, ex-MLA Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, former RPSC member Chhotu Ram Chaudhary from Nagaur, Gajendra Singh Sekhawat from Jodhpur, sitting MP Devji Patel from Jalore, State President ST Morcha Arjun Meena from Udaipur, Distt. Secretary Manshankar Ninama from Banswara, Distt. President Chandra Prakash Joshi from Chittorgarh, State Executive Member Hari Om Singh Rathore from Rajsamand, Distt. President Subhash Bahdiya from Bhilwara, MLA Om Birla from Kota and sitting MP Baran Shri Dushyant Singh from Jhalawar.
In Bihar Virendra Kumar Choudhary has been fielded from Jhanjharpur, Kameshwar Choupal from Supoul and Ashwani Kumar Choubey from Bakshar.
The party also released names like actress Hema Malini and former Congress member Jagdambika Pal, who joined BJP recently, who will contest from Mathura and Domariaganj respectively. Also Satyapal Saini will contest from Sambhal, Choudhary Babulal from Fatehpur Sikri, Krishna Raj from Shahjahanpur, Rekha Verma from Dhaurahra, Devendra Bhole from Akbarpur, Bhanu Verma from Jalaun, Pushpendra Singh Chandel from Hamirpur, Shyama Charan Gupt from Allahabad, Hariom Pandey from Ambedkar Nagar, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh from Kaiserganj, Kirti Vardhan Singh from Gonda, Rajesh Pandey from Kushi Nagar and Manoj Sinha from Ghazipur.
In Jharkhand Vidhyut Mahato will contest from Jamshedpur.
